What a year 2020 has been! There have been highs and there have been lows. Maybe you have found yourself in a bit of a pit right now. May I offer you some encouragement? Your circumstance will not last forever.
The months of August and September were rough for me. As a teacher I faced many challenges of change. Change is hard, but necessary for growth. Focusing on God’s Truth and having life speaking friends helped me push through the difficult time. I was also reminded that the circumstance I was facing was a season. I held onto the Truth that seasons in life are just that…temporary.
There is a book in the Old Testament that speaks of this. Ecclesiastes 3 tells us, “there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens”. I was also reminded that whatever I was giving my attention to was growing.
God’s Word also speaks of our thought life (also known as our focus). What you focus on develops. What are you focusing your attention on? Here’s some Truth to help you with your focus: Philippians 4:8 Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s Word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things (center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart).
So my friend, tie a knot and hold on to the Truth that Jesus promises never to leave you or forsake you! He is with you in the midst of the pain, heartache, confusion, and discouragement. I promise this season will pass! Focus on His Truth. He will guide your path. I challenge you to shift your perspective and see what happens!
Blessings and Peace, my friends!
Emily
